  1. Interesting post, however I would have to argue that speed is a byproduct of strength. One would first have to have strength in order to have speed.

  2. I tend to agree with that mentality.

    My thought is geared more toward young swimmers (9-10 years old). When they come into my program, some have a certain amount of natural speed which to my eye is undeniable even though they lack what an older (national level) swimmer knows as strength. Compared to natural endurance I'd take natural speed. I guess that means they have natural stength too? Makes sense to me. Thanks for the post!
